To celebrate summer, I wanted to list ten of my favorite coasters from across the country!
These picks are in no particular order.
Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio is home to a fantastic roster of coasters—it is a MUST visit on any road trip to Ohio. Maverick is one of my favorite coasters at the park. Built in 2007, it doesn’t go very high, but it sure is fast! It starts off with a 95 degree first drop, before whipping riders into twists, turns and loops at about 70 mph. The Wild West theme of this ride is sure to thrill! Watch the video and see for yourself!
The Beast, at Kings Island in Cincinnati, Ohio—hails as the world’s longest wooden coaster. Even at 30 years old it is still the most popular ride in the park and attracts coaster enthusiasts from all over the world. It was built in the very back of the park and travels over the natural curves of the land and hills for the duration of the ride. This terrain coaster travels deep into the woods before throwing its riders for a final double helix that is enclosed. (Bonus trivia: There is a Goosebumps novel based on this ride!)
